FAQ’s

Q. What about Dealer Inquiries?
A. Please NO DEALER INQUIRIES.

Q. Does the model or part # have any application significance?
A. Yes.

The LNS represents our Lens Adapter Series. The Lens Adapter incorporates our Highest Optical Quality Coated 10x WF Achromatic Lens Element System and is intended to be used in place of your Microscope Eyepiece. Our Stocking Lens Adapters will accommodate the Standard 23.2mm INSIDE DIAMETER Lens Tube or port or the 30mm INSIDE DIAMETER Lens Tube or port of most Stereo Zoom Microscopes. We can manufacture Special Order Lens Adapters for Microscopes that have a different Inside Diameter Lens Tube or Port, such as 25mm for example. Please refer to our Ordering Information page under Return/Refund Policy for important information regarding Special Order Adapters.
The SLNS and LNS-BM900 represents our Slit Lamp Lens Adapters. We have 2 different style of Slit Lamp Lens Adapters. The Haag Streit Slit Lamp style Lens Adapter incorporates our Highest Optical Quality Coated Lens Element System and will fit the Haag Streit BM 900 Slit Lamps and other Slit Lamps that have a 23.5mm INSIDE DIAMETER Lens Tube. The Topcon Slit Lamp Style Lens Adapter also incorporates our Highest Optical Quality Coated Lens Element System and will fit the Topcon SL7 Slit Lamps and other Slit Lamps that have a 30mm INSIDE DIAMETER Lens Tube. All of our Slit Lamp Lens Adapters have our Patented “Anti Rotation” feature which prevents camera rotation and also, allows the user to position the camera to the best use position.
The BXBH2 adapter represents our Olympus BX or BH2 Trinocular Microscope Adapter Series. The BXBH2 Adapter fits on top of your Trinoc Head with the following dimensions and will only accommodate Trinoc Heads with those dimensions, regardless of the brand of microscope. The BXBH2 Adapter con be ordered with or without our Relay Lens. Please note, you must have a relay lens in the Trinoc Port.

Q. What is the insertion depth of the UNI-2042D?
A. The insertion depth for your eyepiece and/or mounting area is 1.00“.

Q. I have heard that some adapters can cause thread damage to my camera, what about your adapters?
A. The adapters that thread directly onto your camera without the aid of a Lens Conversion Adapter will not damage the threads of your camera lens hood. We manufacture our adapters from a material that is strong, durable, and safe.

Q. Where are your adapters manufactured?
A. Right here in the USA. All of our adapters are manufactured at our facility under strict guidelines and stringent Quality Control.

Q. Other competitor’s adapters require you to purchase the adapter and then a coupler and lens element separately, what about your adapters?
A. Our adapters are complete. All you need to do is order the appropriate adapter for the camera models we have listed and you will be taking photos in no time. The UniAdapter does not come with any optics or lens element as you use your own existing eyepiece and the BXBH2 adapters come with the option of ordering a relay lens if you need one.

Q. How do I know if my camera will work with your adapters?
A. Just choose the adapter style you would like and check out that web page. All the camera models we have listed for that particular style of adapter have been tested and have proven to work well for photomicrography. We have tested every camera model we have listed prior to manufacturing an adapter and placing it on our web site. If you are still unsure, try this simple test.

Please note that these are general instructions and may not represent all the functions available for your camera model (you may have to experiment a little).
Place a sample in your microscope with appropriate illumination.  Focus your sample.  Place the camera on the manual mode.  Change the focus mode to "Infinity", set the aperture to "A", and set the f-stop number to the lowest number.  Remove the Rubber Eye guards, if any.  Position the camera lens so that it is as close as possible to the lens of your microscope eyepiece.  Use your optical zoom function to achieve a full field of view on your LCD screen.  Fine focusing can be done with the microscope itself.  If you can achieve an image that you are happy with, then the camera should do fine.  Sometimes connecting the camera to your computer screen makes focusing easier, if your camera model has the function.
Or you can just email us and we will try to determine if your camera model will work.

Q. Are your adapters difficult to use?
A. No. All of our adapters come with Easy to Read Instructions and suggested Camera settings. The Instructions and your Invoice are placed in an envelope in your package, marked “Open First”. If you happen to lose your Instructions, just email us and we will gladly send you the Instructions via Regular Mail, Fax, or by Email, your preference.

Q. Are taking Photos of my specimen difficult?
A. No, but as with all things, practice, practice, practice will make perfect! Also, when using a new camera, there will be a learning curve until you get use to all of the camera’s functions. Remember, you can always email us and we will do our best to offer up suggestions.

Q. How do I contact you?
A. Please go to our Contact Page for that information.

Q. What is your Return Policy?
A. You can find all that information and more, at our Ordering Information Page.

If you have any questions, Please email us at adapters@zarfenterprises.com.
